Sweet Designs

Eatable designs lack longevity but can be as fun and fulfilling as other creations.  Cake decorating started, for me, in high school.  My friend, Sheilah, got me interested and the more I did the more I learned.  Once my little children became "helpers" I found the hobby to be less fullfilling and more frustrating.  People that pay for cakes don't appreciate the creative genius of my little people.  I dabbled in making temples with royal frosting.  I drew my own patterns of the Salt Lake Temple and the Oakland Temple.  I am posting a few of my cakes.  Neither the photography nor the cakes are currently in style but it is a craft that I enjoyed for some time.  We must have gone through truckloads of powdered sugar and shortening in the early years.  The fridge in the garage always had various containers of frosting in an array of colors.  Not once do I remember my parents discouraging me or chiding me for taking up all that space in the fridge or for using up their three year supply of sugar.
